How We Impact the Community

Soroptimist, “Best for Women”, invests in the dreams of women and girls in our community by providing them with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Since our club’s start in 1939, our mission has been to support women and girls. We strive to educate, enable, and empower them to a future of self-determination and success. We provide local women and girls with the resources they need and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams. We are one of the few local organizations that provide awards and grants exclusively to girls and women in Napa.

Annually, we award six $1,000 grants to local high schoolers and sponsor two awards for outstanding volunteerism. Our “Live Your Dream (LYD)” and “Pathway to Success (P2S)” programs provide 4 grants for ladies entering higher education or training after overcoming challenges such as poverty, addiction, violence or incarceration. “LYD” focuses on heads of household and “P2S” does not require local women be head of household.
