NeuroSpring

How We Impact the Community
Since 2017, NeuroSpring has provided Napa Valley high school students with internships in our medical device research and development projects – a unique opportunity for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)-minded young individuals. Working side-by-side with our scientists, physicians, and engineers, they gain first-hand experience designing, performing, and analyzing research data, and they learn the process of developing medical devices to treat the world’s greatest healthcare challenges.
We also provide the NeuroSpring Scholarship, an award given to our most promising and dedicated interns entering college.
Of our 22 high school interns to date, 20 have gone on to college and 2 have received NeuroSpring Scholarships. Indeed, our first intern recently completed a Master’s degree in neuroscience at Northeastern University and is currently applying to combined M.D.-Ph.D. programs!
We help start our interns in STEM professions and show them how such important work can be done right here, in Napa.
Testimonial
I interned with NeuroSpring in 2018-19, sparking my passion for neurology. I gained hands-on lab experience, performed experiments in brain hemorrhage, and researched nerve structures. As a Junior Scientist since 2021, I help train NeuroSpring’s current interns and learn from its staff, preparing me for a career as a physician-scientist.
