How We Impact the Community
Without NWR, injured and orphaned wildlife in Napa County would have little chance of survival. No other Napa organization is permitted to rescue, provide medical care and release wildlife back to their native home. We help when a songbird slams into a window, when a hawk is hit by a car, or when a litter of raccoons or foxes are orphaned.
NWR has helped over 13,500 animals since 2013. In 2023 our clinic admitted 1,163 patients representing 108 different wild species. We received over 1,700 phone calls from Napa County residents asking for help.
NWR teaches children about wildlife, biodiversity and human impact through our free school programs. They learn how to respect and protect wildlife, and they visit with a live animal. Over 1,100 school children participated in 2023.
NWR sells, installs, cleans and monitors the occupancy of Barn Owl nesting boxes so pesticide free practices can be applied for rodent abatement in our agricultural community.
Our services are free, our costs are significant, and our impact is immeasurable.
Testimonial
This program is an absolute necessity in this day and age, when care for the natural world is more vital than ever. I am so grateful for the work Napa Wildlife Rescue affords our schools in planting seeds of knowledge and compassion in our young ones.
