How We Impact the Community
We are the key to reducing pet homelessness and suffering in Napa communities. We promote the welfare of companion animals through protection, advocacy, and education, and by example. We are the sole provider of below-market-rate spay/neuter surgeries, operating five days a week year-round, while also providing other critical preventative services for pets.
In 2023, we saw 8,763 animals for our lifesaving, prevention-focused services, including: performing 4,127 spay/neuter surgeries, administering 10,429 vaccines and microchips, and providing behavior education and training to 223 dogs and their owners. We respond to thousands of calls seeking pet behavior help and referrals.
Last year we connected 4,933 people who care for, and about, pets to informational resources, including wellness clinics and free in-class presentations and educational materials teaching kindness and compassion toward animals to 3,433 children. We provide volunteer, internship, and employment opportunities for young people to learn about animal welfare and/or pursue their education in the field and recently opened a scholarship fund for local students pursuing veterinary medicine.
We’re working toward a more humane Napa Valley through our prevention-focused, community-based services.
Testimonial
I brought a feral cat for surgery and I would have been unable to have this cat neutered otherwise. My gratitude for what Napa Humane does for animals, their care and devotion goes well beyond what my words could express. This place and its people are extraordinary and so needed.
