How We Impact the Community

Soroptimist is a worldwide network of over 100,000 women, working to improve the lives of women and girls. We are women at their best, working towards helping other women to be their best.

Locally, we are doing this throughout the community by working to decrease isolation among seniors, increasing awareness regarding sex trafficking and domestic violence, and mentoring high school girls, including offering an upcoming workshop on Safe Dating.

We sponsor self–esteem workshops to help girls reach their full potential. We give scholarships to both exemplary female high school volunteers and to women who are head of household, struggling but still going back to school in colleges or trade schools. Finally, we respond to the ongoing needs of the community through partnerships with the City and other non-profits.

We are one of only 3 service groups in American Canyon, and the only one who specifically serves the needs of both women and seniors.
