How We Impact the Community
“Hitting the bag helps me manage my anger.” We provide youth and adults a safe, supportive environment where they can learn not only amateur boxing technique, strategy, and physical conditioning, but also discipline, respect, hard work, and responsibility. An outlet for aggression and a place to conquer fears, our program encourages participants to set challenging goals and prepare mentally and physically to meet them. Our own community boxing show, the Napa Harvest Crusher Classic, provides an opportunity for participants to display their skills.
Although our gym encourages people of any age to join, our target is serving young adults and children ages 7-18. Our PeeWee classes are especially for kids in 2nd-4th grade and focus on balance, coordination, movement and boxing fundamentals.
Since we opened in 2021, our volunteer coaches have offered training year-round at an affordable rate for families. No child is turned away and all equipment is provided. In 2023 we provided 507 classes to 189 unique children and 317 classes for 133 unique adults.
Testimonial
I’m the mother of two children who participate in Al Amanecer, a safe place where my children are learning discipline, tolerance and respect. They also learn so much about the sport. Thank you, coaches, for helping them grow and face their fears, and perhaps everything they will encounter in life.
