How We Impact the Community
Uniquely, in our sanctuary, we treat our horses as top-quality show horses, providing specialized care and a deep understanding of show horse physicality and psychology tailored specifically for Thoroughbreds and sports horses. Our work is carried out by a dedicated team of professionals who volunteer and collaborate to ensure a healthy, supportive environment for our horses’ well-being that provides rescue, aftercare, and retirement by saving discarded and abused equines.
Our comprehensive approach addresses each horse individually, ensuring a smooth transition from racing and arduous competitive show careers to retirement and aftercare. We leverage our expertise to educate the community about horse exploitation, the challenges retired and unwanted horses face, and the need for rescue and retirement sanctuaries. We demonstrate the humane treatment of horses.
Young volunteers who assist with retirement and aftercare programs learn compassion, responsibility, teamwork, confidence, and empathy. These experiences develop practical skills and nurture a profound empathy and commitment to animal welfare, inspiring young individuals to be active and compassionate community members.
