How We Impact the Community

This orchestra is small but mighty! We are a rehearsing and performing adult orchestra. Primarily a string orchestra, we occasionally hire guest soloists or a conductor. Our mission is to promote the appreciation and understanding of classical music through providing excellent free concerts accessible to the entire Napa Valley community.

We have invited high school students to play side by side with us, as we feel this is an important way to mentor classical musicians. We will continue to mentor younger musicians and provide a positive, cooperative and educational group environment at rehearsals and performances.

Our devoted audience has steadily increased in size since the orchestra started and the feedback has been enthusiastic. Does a community the size of Napa Valley deserve to have its own local chamber orchestra? It does!

The NVCO has played its way into the hearts of local audiences who for the past three years have enjoyed its performances of a wide variety of music. The 20 member orchestra often features distinguished soloists in concertos, female composers, multi ethnic and contemporary selections.
