How We Impact the Community

We are a community farm that raises organically fresh fruits and vegetables for distribution through the CANV Food Bank. Our mission is to assist financially stressed families as they work to put nutritious meals on their tables. The last three years we have provided the Food Bank an average of 25,000 lbs. of fresh produce for distribution. This was especially critical during the time of the COVID-19 epidemic when the number of families the Food Bank served doubled and then tripled. Even as numbers fluctuate, the poor will be with us always, and with them, a need for what we can supply. Having access to fresh fruits and vegetables provides a greater sense of dignity and choice in the process of receiving Food Bank distributions.

For those who do not depend upon food assistance, we also provide many opportunities for those who enjoy gardening and are looking for ways to make a significant difference in the quality of lives of others in our community.

Testimonial

As a volunteer at the Mission Farm, the most exciting time of year for me is “harvest time”. I am continually amazed at what comes from a tiny seed. I am sure providing high quality, fresh produce to families of our community facing grocery insecurity helps tremendously.
