Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation
$10,095 raised from 50 donations
How We Impact the Community
The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation provides opportunity for education, mentorship, and professional development training to all of Napa Valley’s farmworkers. Since our founding in 2011, we have invested $14 million, providing 3,860 hours of education, and impacting over 28,000 farmworkers and their families. Our 14-member education committee shares similar backgrounds and life experiences to the community we serve. We provide adult literacy classes that teach English, math, and technology programs; financial literacy workshops that cover financial planning, general banking, and business budgets; and workshops on safety, sustainable farming practices, management, leadership training, and mentorship. These classes and workshops provide personal and professional growth for our farmworkers and their families. In turn, they become leaders in our community and in the workplace, and as a result, strengthen our Napa Valley community at large.
Testimonial
Before joining the Fields of Opportunity Summer Program, I planned to go directly into a trade. However, seeing the opportunities others at the company had, I changed my mind. Now, I want to go to college and pursue a career in viticulture.
